Edinburgh Airport has two hotels you can walk from. Others sit by a tram stop, and a city-centre hotel can work too: the Airlink 100 bus runs all night. Here are the minutes on our map routes, and why the tram alone is too late for a 6am flight.

What you only find here
Most lists only name the hotels at the airport. We worked out the walk from each one, and read the official timetable data for the tram and the Airlink 100: the first tram reaches the airport only at 06:15, but the Airlink 100 runs all night, so a city-centre hotel by Waverley Bridge also works for the first flights.

How we know
Every fact has a label
Measured by us
Someone from our team checked it on the spot, for example walked the route with a stopwatch. We say when.
Calculated from map data
Worked out from OpenStreetMap, for example a walking time along the footpaths. Good, but nobody walked it for this page.
Reported by official source
Taken from the airport, the transport company or the hotel's own website, with the date we checked.
