3 ways to get to Paultons Park
Picked on how you get to the gate with small children. Never on who pays us.
Copythorne Lodge Bed & Breakfast
- Just off exit 2 of the M27, with free parking at the park[3] Reported by official source
The Star Hotel (Southampton)
- Our route to the X7 stop Albion Place: 0.3 km, about 4 minutes[4] Calculated from map data
- In October some X7 buses stop at the park gate: from Albion Place at 09:05 (at the park 09:35)[5] Reported by official source
- Last X7 from the park grounds back to Southampton: 17:41 Monday to Friday, 17:37 Saturday (October)[6] Reported by official source
Budget option: Copythorne Lodge Bed & Breakfast (guesthouse): Our walking route is 4.1 km, about 51 minutes, mostly along roads with no pavement on the map: come by car[1] Calculated from map data
Booking sites say the Premier Inn is "2 minutes' drive" from the park. Without a car that tells you little. We worked out the walk from the road and the hotel by the Vine Inn, and read the official bus timetable data to find the X7 buses that drive right into the park grounds.

Without a car: the X7 in October
From the official bus timetable data (5 to 31 October 2026). Only some buses enter the park grounds.
Pick the one that fits
You come by car
The easiest way: the park is just off exit 2 of the M27 and parking is free.
Small children, no car
Catch an X7 that drives into the park grounds. From the road stops it is a 16 to 23 minute walk on our map.
Staying by the Vine Inn
The walk to the entrance is about 25 minutes, partly on a road with no pavement on the map.
Sunday
There is no X7 on Sundays in the timetable data. Plan a car or taxi.

Every fact has a label
Someone from our team checked it on the spot, for example walked the route with a stopwatch. We say when.
Worked out from OpenStreetMap, for example a walking time along the footpaths. Good, but nobody walked it for this page.
Taken from the airport, the transport company or the hotel's own website, with the date we checked.

Official pages only: the venue, the transport companies and the hotels' own websites. Checked 5 Oct 2026. Walking times come from our own route calculations on OpenStreetMap unless a fact says "Measured by us". Times, routes and fares can change: fares are the official operator's or venue's own figures on the date shown, never hotel prices, and only meant to help you compare. Always check before you travel.
